Requirements

We require ALL customers to meet the minimum requirements listed below. Please read carefully!
REQUIREMENTS:

You (and passenger) safety is our number one priority!
Valid state or International drivers license. A Polaris Slingshot is classified as an motorcycle/autocycle which does NOT require a motorcycle endorsement in the state of California. Must be shown before operation.
You must be at a minimum age of 21 or older. We also require you to be able to operate the vehicle properly for your safety as well as all other motorists.
Only the documented renter is permitted to operate the vehicle. Failing to comply is in violation of rental agreement.
A credit card hold of $500 is required to rent a vehicle. This hold is to cover any damages caused by the operator during the rental trip. When the vehicle is returned, inspected and no damages have been assessed, the deposit will be returned. We encourage the operator to do a thorough inspection pre-trip and post-trip.
If you are renting a vehicle equipped with a manual transmission, you must demonstrate adequate skills in operation or rental agreement can be cancelled. If the clutch is worn causing transmission slippage post-trip, this repair cost will be deducted from the security deposit.
Absolutely no spinning of the wheel will be tolerated. It is an unsafe operation of the vehicle that can cause serious injury and equipment damage. Tire tread thickness will be gauged pre-trip and post-trip. If significant wear is observed, price of tire replacement will be deducted from the security deposit.

INSURANCE:

Full coverage insurance is to be presented and provided by the renter/operator of the vehicle. Full coverage amount must be equivalent or greater than the cost of the vehicle of $25,000. San Diego Slingshot Rentals holds no liability to damages that occurred during the rental contract.
It is the responsibility of the renter/operator to verify insurance coverage is correct before the trip is scheduled to start. Proof of insurance is to be presented before operation. Note: If correct insurance is not presented, the trip will be cancelled and the reservation cost will NOT be refunded. Security deposit will be refunded.
Medical insurance is the renter/operators responsibility. San Diego Slingshot Rentals holds no liability for any injuries that occurred during the rental contract.
All coverage terms and conditions of the rental contract do not include coverage for property, personal or otherwise, or damage as a result of negligence on the part of the renter or passenger for any illegal use of the autocycle or its use under the influence of drugs or alcohol. If you are ill, or sick, or on any prescription or over the counter medication you cannot operate our autocycles.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

Customers will receive a full refund or credit with 48 hours notice of cancellation. Customers will also receive a full refund or credit in case of operator cancellation due to weather. Contact us by phone or email to cancel or inquire about a cancellation.
No-shows will be charged the full price, deposit will be returned.

RENTAL RETURNS:

If the vehicle is not returned at the agreed upon time, the renter will be charged an additional $100 per hour for each hour that you return the vehicle late. Renter/operator will be allowed a 30 minute grace period before the late fee is put into effect.

REFUELING:

It is the customers responsibility to refuel the autocycle to the amount they received it. Refueling penalty of $50 will be deducted from the security deposit.
